Fire and Ice

Learn some interesting facts about dry ice and how we use it to teach about solids, liquids, and gases. Join Exploration Universe perform some really “cool” science using dry ice. Why is it called ‘dry ice’? How can you make bubbles filled with smoke using dry ice? What is it made of? Can you blow up a balloon using dry ice?

But wait… that’s not all. If you think dry ice is cold, wait until you meet liquid nitrogen! It is 3x colder than dry ice! You might ask, “So what can you do with that?”. Well, you can freeze many, many things, likes eggs, flowers, balloons, racket balls, pennies and more. But what is the difference between freezing an egg and a racket ball or an apple? We will find out! You can also freeze marshmallows, gummy worms and crackers. What do frozen marshmallows taste like? We will find out!!!

Anyone interested in a little fire? Can bubbles burn? How do rockets engines get their power? What is fire? These are just some of the questions we will be exploring in the fire portion of our demonstration. Kids will gain a new appreciation of fire and will be amazed! We do not want to give away too much, but don’t worry parents, this show is perfectly safe!
